Kate Winslet at the Titanic 3D Premiere

Kate Winslet wowed this week at the Titanic premiere, for the second time! Only this time the movie in question is in 3D! Here's what she looked like first time round and second.

Ramblings...

Hi! You may have noticed (I hope you did) my last post, which, if you didn't notice, was a Polyvore set I made filled with Hollister clothes... well, what can I say? Most girls (and guys) my age love this brand, it's probably the most popularly worn one on non-uniform days at my school. All the clothes are VERY nice there and although as it is a designer brand, it is a little on the pricey side, but it's much less so than most other designer brands you'll find at your local shopping centre. It also has an amazingly laid back style that's casual and preppy, rather than the chavy and ugly clothes sold by some other designer brands I could mention... Yep, so the set was very random but basically a shopping list for me next time I go shopping (SOON! During the easter break, definitely, but not this weekend as I have a family gathering...) Another thing I like about it (rambling on a bit here, I'm sorry), is that the designs don't have massive logos printed all over them, the ones I've picked out are knitwear and tops, probably the ones with the least logos on in the case of hollister. Last year there were quite a lot of logo designs (with neon pink as well, ugh) , but I think they have got over that now with the mature and preppy knits. It's funny though, because someone I know once said to me "I don't like things from Hollister that don't have a big logo on them, because then people don't know it's from hollister" Well, I'm sure that person would be embarrassed if they read this, which they won't, because no-one I know knows about my blog... anyway, so the point is that some people my age are brand snobs and chavs... and that appears to be the conclusion here...

Spring Trends...

New spring trends: hotness on the highstreet

Spring has officially arrived, bringing with it a whole host of hot new trends. Some of the main ones seem to include pastels, monochrome, spots and stripes, skater dresses, crop-tops and bralets, pink, peach & coral, and printed or coloured jeans. Here's some of my faves:

This river island skater dress is right on trend, especially with the style and lacy material.

This river island bralet fits into three different trends: Monochrome, spots & stripes and  bralets.

These gorgeous new look coloured jeans are definitely on my spring clothes list, the colour is perfect! They nail the coloured jeans trend with no trouble at all!

These are also new look jeans, similar to those Kate Middleton was spotted wearing . They 're  the right pair for you if you're wanting to follow the coral colour trend.

This new look skater dress is right on trend with pinks and the style. Lace is also a  popular  trend on the highstreet , carried on from last season.

This amazing shoe nails the monochrome and spots&stripes trend.

This new look cropped pineapple head tree matches perfectly to the jeans it's pictured with. Unfortunately, I can't find them on the website. Sadface. But I'll find them!!!

Spring's new shoe-stopper - The Mule!

The new shoe trend that's hitting the catwalks hard is the Decorated Mule - or the Super Mule, as it should probably be called. These are no ordinary Mules, these are wildly designed, detailed and decorated Mules that make life worth living (maybe in a less-dramatic way than that, but you get the picture) These new shoe-sensations are becoming fast favorites of some well known designers, including the likes of Mui Mui. But if you don't have the budget for the more expensive of Mules, then you can find some at smaller fashion sites such as alternative footwear.

Amazing tights technology! (sort of!)

Hi! I've just discovered some amazing new tights that actually tan your legs! All you have to do is slip on the tights, leave alone for 10 minutes, massage your legs, then take them off and enjoy your new tan. Once used and washed, you'll be left with some 8 denier tights. The tights may be on the pricey side, but they're well worth it if you're in a rush! Find them at:http://www.tightsplease.co.uk/brands/tightsplease/fake-tan-tights/

Meanwhile, the fast spreading trend gracing the high streets seems to be coloured jeans. I got these from Miso at Republic for £29.99...

They can be worn casually, or with heels for a smart-casual outfit

When the spring weather's not all it's cracked up to be, bring spring to your wardrobe yourself.. with the help of these!

More Paris fashion week

Gracing the catwalks of Paris Fashion week, the Limi Feu AW/12 collection seemed to focus on monochrome tones, made interesting and fun with details; braces, bows and waistcoats galore.
The grande masterpiece: braces, a pussy bow, and a pocketed skirt  all add quirkiness to this elegant and classic look, bringing it up to date.
What a waistcoat! This piece from the collection adds originality and quirkiness, and could be the perfect addition to your new favorite outfit.

This outfit goes with the flow, meeting the fast emerging new trend that features blouses and peter pan collars, (my favorite!)  but this outfit is made effortlessly classic with it's monochrome colour.

More of the Limi Feu AW/12 collection - and you can definitely see a theme emerging (or is it just me?)  Here the monochrome moments keep on coming, and kept interesting with the odd beret or fedora here and there, some peter pan collars and a pink dress.

Paris fashion week so far...

I'm back! After a few days of not blogging, I've decided no blog deserves to be left unattended. It's just sad to see. So, naturally, the time has come to catch up with the literally hot of the catwalk trends from Paris fashion week. I'll be starting from the first day, and picking out a few key shows from each, so expect a good few posts on this one. The first section of See by Chloe saw a lot of silk tops, blouses and dresses, featuring dainty pin-tucks accompanied by cotton jackets and gauge knits.
Is this going to hit the high-street anytime soon?
This blouse could add a touch of summer to any winter/ autumn outfit, without the wearer sacrificing comfort and freezing.

The second section of the show had an entirely different theme, however, bringing more textures to the Chloe catwalk, including bouclette sweaters, shearling jackets, and quilted denim, adding en element of spontaneity Chloe customers will love.

Definitely ready-to-wear.

With a combination of styles; a jumpsuit, coat and showstopper dress,  you could have your  entire autumn/winter wardrobe sorted in one shop!

Featuring coloured skinnies in this season's favorite colour, this is a perfect outfit for bringing summer to the colder months of the year.
